I am able to offer a Single full days locum cover for the Isle of Wight, Hampshire and Dorset and a minimum of Two Days back to back for areas outside of these areas.

I undertake all elements of dispensing including appropriate frame and lens recommendation and discussion of features and benefits relating to different lens form and design, spectacle frame design, lens materials, supplementary coatings, tints and photochromic options. More broadly, I am to offer the following services:
– Paediatric Dispensing including Myopia Control (Hoya Miyosmart Accreditation),
– Anti-Fatigue Lenses such as Essilor Eyezen and Hoya Sync III
– Progressive Lenses – Budget options through to Tailored and Bespoke Designs such as Essilor XR PRO and Hoya Myself
– VDU and Occupational Dispensing including Degressives and Occupational Progressives, and alternative vocational solutions such as Double D-Seg, Inverse Progressives and Trifocals.
– Task Specific and Lifestyle Lenses for Driving, Sports and Hobbies
– Protective Sunwear Recommendation and Discussion of Related Restrictions
– Anisometropia Dispensing and Prism Controlled Spectacle Lenses
– Complex Lens Options – Including specialised Lenticular
– Protective Eyewear Options conforming to British Standards EN166, EN167
– General supervision of Support Staff and specifically relating to Restricted Under 16s and Sight Impairment Registration
– Troubleshooting Dispensing Issues with any Non-Tolerance Issues
– Spectacle Fitting & Adjustments
– Repairs including Supra Cord Replacement and Rimless Assembly
– Discussion of Low Vision Aids such as Magnifiers and Appropriate Use of Illumination for patients with a reduced visual acuity and those with more marked visual impairment.
– Recommendation for Specialist Therapeutic Tints and Over-shields for Low Vision conditions such as Cataract, Macular Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa.
– Recommendation of Products relating to Dry Eye and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction.
– Discussion relating to Diet and Lifestyle with direct benefits to Eye Health.
– Contact Lens Teaches for instruction in Insertion and Removal of Standard Soft Lenses and appropriate care and maintenance aftercare.
– Practice Triage for Patients presenting with Urgent Eyecare and Requiring onward referral to Optometrist, CUES, MECS etc
